What is Village Connections?

Village Connections is a community based non-profit organization that empowers members to lead an active and engaged lifestyle in their own homes as they age. Run by high quality volunteers, this organization offers information and referrals to cost effective services and activities designed to:

  • Enhance members’ health and wellness

  • Support their social, educational, and cultural interests

  • Foster member to member volunteer support

We serve German and Merion Village, Schumacher Place, Brewery District and most of downtown

What are some ways I can volunteer?

  • People can volunteer as much or as little as they would like!

  • Transportation is our most requested service and highest area of need for volunteers.

    • Driving to a medical or non-medical appointment

    • Grocery or other shopping

    • Driving members to social events

  • Light Home Maintenance

    • Moving furniture

    • Gardening & yard cleanup

    • Changing light bulbs and batteries

  • Technology Assistance

    • Computer, Tablet and Cell Phone assistance

    • Cable/TV/Internet troubleshooting

  • Friendly Visits

    • In-home visits to a home-bound members

    • Running errands for a member

    • Help with letter writing, watering plants, etc.

  • Office Help

    • Clerical office duties

    • Plan a social event or fundraiser for our Services Committee

    • Design a flyer for our Marketing Committee

What is required of me if I want to volunteer?

  • Free on-line background check

  • Those interested in driving members, must show proof of a valid driver’s license and auto insurance
