Foundations of Gospel Living Study

An incredibly important question for every person is, "What is Jesus really saying?” What things are most important and prioritized and what will I do with that?" Jesus is the true and good King over all and he has given vital instruction to us as his creation and recipients of his love. But, we know it can be challenging to gain a grasp of the big picture of his teaching. This study will guide you through Christ’s most prioritized instructions, promises, and explanations for those who would follow him. The passages have been carefully selected to allow you to build a strong, basic foundation for living the new life in the gospel of Christ. The study is designed to provide that foundation by clear and simple initial observations from the Scriptures. These then can be refreshed and further deepened each time the study is done with others while providing them an opportunity to lay their own Biblical foundation. It is a disciple-making tool.
You will need a Bible, and we suggest an ESV or NIV translation. While an app is helpful, we would encourage you to get your own physical Bible to use and take notes in this study booklet.
These 9 weeks of daily readings are intended to be studied with others and discussed weekly. Each day, there are three passages that are meant to be read through once. As you read, make one or two bullet point notes from each in the space provided. The second page of each weeks study also includes a suggested use of the meeting time, as well as a place to write down notes and prayer requests. We have also included a list of some of the most important verses to memorize at the end of this study.
Finally, don’t go solo. Because Jesus’ work saves each person into God's family, it is of utmost importance to live life connected to that family in a good and local church, that is committed to preaching God's Word (the Bible). Like a fish out of water, attempting to grow with the Father apart from His beloved family will lead you to a dry and shriveled soul, starved from the graces He gives through his church family and its mission.
